About Somatic Living
What is Somatic Living?
Embodiment means so many things and we each experience it differently as we follow our own path of challenge and growth in our unique lives. But at it’s core embodiment is the ability to feel into our bodies with our minds-eye to consciously unlock the wisdom of our bodies. This wisdom becomes the guide for our life.
Embodiment can also be understood as a process of rewiring the brain and liberating ourselves from unconscious patterns so that we can be free to live our lives with conscious purpose. When we are embodied, we can choose to live, and be the person we want to be rather than the person our unconscious patterns have molded us into. We invite you to experience the rich rewards of a dedicated practice.
Our Mission
Our Mission at Somatic Living is to share the pathway to embodiment.
Embodiment, as we teach it, is the practice of feeling into our bodies with our minds-eye to become aware of and integrate the wisdom that is held there. This wisdom becomes the guide to our life.

Rameen Peyrow
Rameen Peyrow
Rameen Peyrow is a master teacher of yoga, meditation and breathing, all tools he uses to teach embodiment. What started out as a preference for meditating over playing with toys became an undeniable lifelong calling. The call lead him to study in India under the lineage of T. Krishnamacharya and Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. He later established one of the largest yoga centers in western Canada, founded the Sattva yoga practice and lead hundreds of people into healthier relationships with themselves. As the co-founder of Somatic Living, his goal is to teach accessible techniques that systematically re-open and realign the body. In doing this he hopes to create a bridge between ancient wisdom and contemporary science, making the art of embodiment accessible to all.
Leanne Brown
Leanne Brown
Leanne Brown is a Somatic Therapist and ever evolving collection of molecules. Somatics revolutionized her life. Before she found Rameen’s practice she was an award winning New York Times cookbook author who taught and spoke all over the United States and Canada. Despite her dreams coming true, inside she felt empty, incapable and fearful. Somatics taught her that feeling happy and well balanced has nothing to do with your present circumstances, it is something we cultivate inside. When our mind and body are connected, open and clear we are able to befriend our emotions and understand ourselves. It’s this understanding that guides us into the life we want. She wants everyone to experience the mental clarity, health and happiness that is their birthright. Her personal mission is to make the wisdom of Somatics accessible for everyone who wants to learn.
